[Libtorrent-devel] rtorrent execution error

Hey All,

First of all, kudos for a command line bt client that actually avoids
python!

Unfortunately I havn't been able to try it out yet. I compiled libsigc
successfully and got libtorrent installed clean. The box I'm installing on
is a friends and I don't have su or sudo, so when his version of curl came
out too low, I installed 7.12.3 to my home dir. Onward to rtorrent I
thought. Edited the configure script to point the curl-config -version call
to $HOME/bin rather than the system curl-config. After that it was a clean
install.

When I try and execute rtorrent though, it throws the good old cannot
access shared lib err, probably because it's looking in the system lib
dirs... I havn't installed software as a plain old user in a while, and the
lib file required is right there in $HOME/lib... ran configure with
--libdir=$HOME/lib, running out of ideas. Anyone have any thoughts?

The exact error:
-(nberwick at ergo)--(/home/nberwick/bin)-
   -(10:41)--(3.632 Mb)-$ ./rtorrent
./rtorrent: error while loading shared libraries: libsigc-2.0.so.0: cannot
open shared object file: No such file or directory

Cheers,
-N
