Try experimenting with torrent priorities and see if that helps at least
somewhat.

It reconnects to a tracker, and yes, it disconnects from seeders as there's
little point in connecting to them if your download is done.  I have missed
this functionality when I switched from bittornado, but nowadays I almost
never need it (although it would sometimes be useful to know how many
people there are in total - both seeders and leechers).
