The frontend running rtorrent is a Sun Fire v20z:
4 GByte RAM, 2x Opteron 2,4 GHz, 2 fast 74 GByte SCSI disks
in HW RAID 1 (the torrents are stored on this device).

For HTTP and FTP the server uses a disk backend, which has 12 disks with
120 GByte each (configured in two RAID 5 sets), 2x Athlon MP, 2 GByte
RAM.

Network connectivity is provided by the university, currently the server
has one dedicated gigabit link and uses a second gigabit link to the
dorm network. The university has an uplink of at least 10 GBit.

In this configuration we managed to deliver 1,5 GBit/sec when
Ubuntu released a new version a few days ago.
