[Libtorrent-devel] syncing modified torrents in memory

When one does an xmlrpc d.set_custom1, a custom field in the torrent is
set with a value.  If rtorrent is restarted, that value will still be
there because it gets saved to the torrent file.  Does this saving of
torrent data occur periodically, or only on program exit?  I am
only seeing the torrent change on exit. Is there a way to tell
rtorrent/libtorrent to sync this data in memory to disk explicitly?
